About

Welcome to the Lambay Singers’ Website!

The Lambay Singers is a mixed SATB choir based in Donabate and Portrane, but the group also attracts members from all corners of North County Dublin.  The choir was established in 1998 by a group of friends who shared a desire to sing good music, and in the intervening years the group has grown from strength to strength, building on performance successes. The Repertoire of the Lambay Singers is very varied, and in the past the group have performed concerts with themes as diverse as

  • traditional and contemporary Irish music;

  • sacred Church music;

  • Medieval Madrigals;

  • contemporary Jazz and Blues;

  • music from the Edwardian era;

  • Classical and popular classical music;

  • Christmas music, both religious and secular.

Please see the Repertoire section for more details of past performances. Under the baton of Choral Director, George Rice, the choir meets on Thursday nights from 7.30pm to 10.00pm, and are very grateful to St. Patrick's Girls' School, Donabate for allowing them use of rehearsal space. While the singers work hard at rehearsal in search of that perfect harmony, there is always time for a sociable drink and a chat afterwards.
